Please see the following message (UPDATED 6th February), copied from the Kimbolton & Stonely Parish Council webpage:
It is less than a week since the Parish Council became aware of the intention to close the Post Office. Since that time members of the Council have been busy investigating possible premises for re-location; finances and the law relating to community projects. We have also held a Working Party meeting at which many ideas were considered.
We are meeting with Post Office headquarters management this week and a special Council meeting is to be held on Wednesday 14 February, commencing at 7pm in the Youth Room at the Mandeville Hall. This meeting will be devoted exclusively to the closure of the Post Office and will try to decide upon a way forward.
The meeting is open to members of the public and Council welcomes input from interested parties.

Clerk to the Council
ORIGINAL POST – 4th February:
You may know that Kimbolton’s Sub-Postmaster has decided to close his shop and Post Office from 26 March 2018.
Since the Parish Council has only learned this week of the Sub-Postmaster’s intentions, we have very little time to try to make alternative arrangements and it appears that, even if we are successful in reinstating the Post Office, there could be a period of months without a Post Office presence in the village.
We will lobby the Post Office for, at the very least, the attendance of a mobile Post Office.
A major problem is the finding of premises suitable as the future home of our Post Office. Ideally, we would wish it to remain in the High Street and if you have any suggestions, or can offer premises, then we would be pleased to hear from you.
It may be that the only solution, should it be the wish of residents to retain the Post Office, is the purchase of premises and the operation of the Post Office as a community venture.
We will shortly be writing to all residents of Kimbolton and Stonely asking for your views and your assistance, both financially and in the giving of your time.
We welcome your views and any suggestions you may have.
